Privacy Policy
Skip & Play does not collect anything. There is no account, no server of ours and no analytics, so there is nowhere for your data to go. Everything the app does happens on your Mac.
What this policy covers
Everything published under skipplaysave.com, split by how you got it. Right now that is two things:
- Skip & Play — the macOS app sold through the Mac App Store, and the Safari extension inside it;
- this website itself.
Each has its own section below. If we later sell software directly from this site, that channel gets its own section here and the effective date changes with it — the two sections above will not change, because how they work will not change.
Skip & Play, from the Mac App Store
Short version: the app collects nothing, so everything below is a description of an absence.
What the app is
Skip & Play is a macOS app containing a Safari extension. The extension gives you four manual controls over the video on the page you are viewing: skip to the end, Picture in Picture, slower and faster. Each one runs when you press a key or click a control in the panel, and not before.
What data we collect
Nothing. Specifically, none of the following is collected, transmitted or used:
- your browsing history, the pages you visit or their addresses;
- the content of pages, the videos on them or their titles;
- your name, email address, or any other contact detail;
- your location;
- usage statistics, analytics events, crash reports or diagnostics;
- any advertising or tracking identifier.
Because no data is collected, there is no purpose for which we use it. We have no analytics service, no telemetry endpoint, no advertising or tracking components, no remote configuration and no server of our own. We do not sell or share personal data, because we do not have any.
Third parties
No third party receives data from this app. It contains no third-party analytics, advertising or attribution components, and it sends nothing to any service, including ours. There are no affiliated or subsidiary companies with access to app data, because there is no app data to access.
If a future version ever shares data with anyone, that party will be required to provide the same protection of your data that this policy states, this page will say who they are and why, and the effective date above will change before that version ships.
What is stored on your Mac
- your keyboard shortcuts;
- your playback speed preference.
Both are kept in the browser's local extension storage on your own machine. They are settings you chose, not information about you, and they are not transmitted anywhere. There is no cloud copy and no export.
Keeping and deleting data
We retain nothing, because we receive nothing. There is no retention period on our side and no deletion request to send us — we hold no copy of anything.
The settings stored on your own Mac stay there until you remove them. You can:
- withdraw the access you granted — in Safari, open Settings → Extensions → Skip & Play and set site access back to Ask or Deny, per site or for all sites. The extension stops working on those pages immediately;
- delete the stored settings — turn the extension off in Safari, or delete the app. Your shortcuts and speed preference go with it.
About the warning Safari shows you
When you enable an extension that can change how a page behaves, Safari warns you that the extension can read the pages you visit. That warning appears for every extension of this kind. It describes what the technology makes possible, not what a particular app does.
What Skip & Play does with that access is narrow and complete: on the page where you opened it, it finds the video and runs the command you pressed. It reads nothing else, keeps nothing, and sends nothing anywhere. You grant access per site, and you can withdraw it in Safari at any time.
This website
skipplaysave.com is four static pages. There is no analytics on them, no tracking pixels, no advertising network and no cookies of ours — nothing is written to your browser and no profile of you is built. We do not know who visits, only that someone did.
The pages are served by Cloudflare Pages, which handles the connection and, like any web server, processes the request itself — your IP address, the page you asked for and your browser's user-agent string — to deliver the page and to absorb attacks. That is Cloudflare acting as our processor under their own terms; we do not receive those logs, do not store them and cannot look you up in them.
If you write to us, we have your email and whatever you put in it, for as long as it takes to answer you and to remember the answer if you write again.
Who is responsible, and how to reach us
The controller of any personal data described on this page is LEGAL-NAME, contactable at support@skipplaysave.com. Write there to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object — in practice the answer for the app is «nothing», and for email it is your message.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom and you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to your national data protection authority as well as to us.
Children
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly request personal data from anyone, of any age. There is no user base on our side, because there is no account system.
Security
Because nothing leaves your device, there is no database of ours to breach. If you find a security problem in the app itself, please write to us at the address below and we will respond.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app does something new with data, this page changes before that version ships, and the effective date above changes with it.
